CO2 EMISSIONS AND FUEL CONSUMPTION NEDC AND WLTP

The declared fuel consumption and the emission data (CO2) of a vehicle have been determined according to the legally prescribed measuring criteria.

From 1 September 2019, all new vehicles are WLTP (EU), ISO 6469 and UN/ECE R100 approved in Hong Kong where applicable.  In addition ISO 12405, IEC 62660, SAE J2464, SAE J2929-2011, UL 1642 (2012) & IEC 61982-4 2015 certification also apply where appropriate to the model.

Due to the more realistic test procedure, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions measured according to the WLTP will in many cases be higher than those measured according to the NEDC.

We are currently required to provide the WLTP figures, and vehicle registration tax will reflect these, and historically NEDC figures when gaining approval from Hong Kong authorities.  To keep our customers fully informed, we show both NEDC and WLTP figures (CO2 emissions and fuel consumption) where applicable.

In the case of new vehicles type-approved according to WLTP (EU standard), the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) figures are derived from the WLTP data and have been approved by Hong Kong complying with the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374) and its subsidiary regulations.

In the cases where the figures are given as ranges of value, they do not refer to a particular individual vehicle and do not form part of the sales offer.  They are intended solely as a means of comparing different vehicle types.  Additional equipment and accessories may change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics.  And, in combination with weather and traffic conditions and individual driving style, can affect fuel consumption, energy consumption, CO2 emissions and vehicle performance.

CO2 emissions and fuel consumption values are given for indicative purposes only.  The values given for a specific configuration of a vehicle may differ from those shown on the certificate of conformity at the time of delivery of the vehicle.  In addition, any such different may affect the amounts due under the applicable legislation (social, fiscal, etc).
